What is your position and what does that entail?
I’m the Senior Director of Finance & Accounting. I’m both the Head of Finance and the Controller, which means I manage almost everything related to money and financial analytics at Brace.
Tell me about your career before joining Brace and how you ended up here.
I started out in public accounting before getting my MBA from UCLA. Since then, I have worked in finance for Tech, CPG, food & beverage, and E-commerce industries with public and private companies, ranging from startups to multinational companies.
Upon hearing our CEO’s vision to revolutionize the technologically outdated mortgage servicing industry, I believed this company could make some ground-breaking changes to solve an issue that impacts people’s lives. That’s why I decided to jump on board.
What is an exciting project you have been working on recently? What is your proudest professional accomplishment at Brace?
I loved developing pricing strategies for several new customers. Seeing the pricing structure I proposed being adopted and my own language being incorporated in legal contracts was my proudest professional accomplishment so far at Brace.
What is your favorite part of working at Brace?
My favorite parts of working at Brace are the challenges and empowerment. I see a challenge as a problem waiting for a solution. Being part of a team of innovators allows me to see problems from a new perspective. At the same time, when we come up with a solution, we are empowered to turn it into reality.
What is something you would want others to know about Brace?
We are a bunch of people who are passionate about our mission and proud of what we do. It’s motivating and rewarding to work with people who care about their work and give it their all.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love movies. Before the pandemic, I used to go to movie theaters almost every weekend and was watching on average at least 3 movies per week. Since the pandemic, I’ve replaced my movie fix with watching all 40 seasons of Survivor… I really love movies.
